TEMECULA & MURRIETA, CA — The spooktacular results are in!

The cities of Temecula and Murrieta collaborated this year with a 2020 Halloween Home-Decorating Contest, given the coronavirus pandemic’s kibosh on traditional celebrations.

From a total of 56 submissions from both towns, four winners from each city were anounced Tuesday in the following categories: best theme; scariest; most original; and most humorous.

Families can use an online Halloween contest map, and load up their little ghouls and goblins for a drive-by, neighborhood tour.

2020 Temecula Winners:

  • Best Theme: 39807 Wellsley Ct., Temecula 92591

  • Scariest: 30480 Shenandoah Ct., Temecula 92591

  • Most Original: 33152 Vermont Road, Temecula 92592

  • Most Humorous: 43824 Calabro St., Temecula 92592

2020 Murrieta Winners:

  • Best Theme: 42215 Sagewood St., Murrieta 92562

  • Scariest: 24717 Falconer Drive, Murrieta 92562

  • Most Original: 24815 Walnut Creek Circle, Murrieta 92562

  • Most Humorous: 40180 Paseo Del Sol, Murrieta 92562

“We really appreciate our citizens taking time to decorate their homes and share their Halloween spirit at such a challenging time for so many,” said Temecula Community Services Commission Chairman Eric Levine.

“I encourage everyone to get out to see these amazing Halloween displays in person. It’s a great opportunity to spend some quality time as a family. Don’t forget to grab some sweet treats to snack on along the way!”
